"FLOWERS" covers the lives of six woman whose lives span a period of three generations (from the Showa period all the way through to the present day).

Starting in the 1930's, Rin (Yu Aoi) is worried about her arranged marriage that her parents setup. Eventually Rin has three daughters: Kaoru (Yuko Takeuchi) - who tragically loses her husband in a car accident, Midori (Rena Tanaka) - a career woman who becomes shaken by a marriage proposal, and youngest child Sato (Yukie Nakama). In the 1960's Sato gives birth to Kanna (Kyoka Suzuki) and Kei (Ryoko Hirosue). In the present day, Kanna is now worried about becoming a single mother.

Yū Aoi (born August 17, 1985) is a Japanese actress and model. She made her film debut as Shiori Tsuda in Shunji Iwai's 2001 film All About Lily Chou-Chou. She subsequently portrayed Tetsuko Arisugawa in Hana and Alice (2004), also directed by Iwai, Kimiko Tanigawa in the hula dancing film Hula Girls and Hagumi Hanamoto in the 2006 live-action adaptation of the popular Honey and Clover manga series. She has won numerous awards for her performances on screen, including the prestigious Japan Academy Prize and Kinema Junpo Awards for best supporting actress in 2007 for Hula Girls and Rookie of the Year for continued performances in the field of Films in Media and Fine Arts by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan in 2009.

Some time between the Meiji and Taisho period… A mother and son walk through heavy rain. The son, YOKI, sees strange, iridescent creatures float from the mountainside and then disappear. He does not yet know such creatures are called “Mushi” and can not be seen by ordinary men. Suddenly, there is a landslide and Yoki’s mother is swallowed by the flood. A Mushishi woman named NUI finds the child, who miraculously survived, and takes him home with her. Some years later, we meet Yoki again as an adult. Having lost his memory in an incident he can not recall, he is now called “GINKO.” He is a “Mushishi,” one who studies the Mushi he could see as a child and protects ordinary men from the illnesses that they inflict. He travels alone through the thick mountain snow, looking for a night’s lodging. We see that his hair is white like the snow and one of his eyes is now missing. Ginko makes his way to a house where a young woman named TANYU has fallen ill. Born to a family with a strong connection to Mushi, Tanyu records the ancient stories of the Mushi onto scrolls. She fell ill after she heard a tale from a blind Mushishi woman. The woman told her about how she had fought off a powerful Mushi called “Tokoyami,” which lived at the bottom of a pond, and about an eyeless fish which lived at the bottom of the Tokoyami called “Ginko.” Her extended exposure to the pond turned her hair white and took her eyes.

Doctor Rintaro *Masato Sakai

The first drama after one and a half years since Legal High 2. The drama will be written by Miho Nakazono (Doctor X, Hanako to Anne) and directed by by Nobuo Mizuta (“Maiko haaaan!!!”/”The Apology King”). One Million Yen Girl EN Sub *Yu Aoi

A young woman has to choose between money, love and freedom in this comedy-drama from Japan. Suzuko/Yu Aoi is twenty-one years old and has served a short sentence in jail after her co-workers caught her conducting some extra-legal business. Deciding a change of locale is in order, Suzuko moves out of her parents' home and begins holding down a series of odd jobs, determined to travel to greener pastures as soon as she saves up one million yen (roughly $9,500). After delivering newspapers and working as a cleaning lady, Suzuko ends up at a resort hotel, where she hires on with the staff. Suzuko strikes up a romance with a young man living nearby, but with her bank account nearing seven figures, she decides she must stay true to her original plan and hits the road, making her way to the mountains where she happens upon a peach farm. Suzuko is welcomed by the farmers and is offered a job as a "Peach Girl," helping to promote their crops in stores. Suzuko's bankroll begins to grow again until her new employers learn that she's done time in jail.
