Synopsis: Legendary swordsman Nemuri Kyoshiro (Tamura Masakazu) has a complicated background. One day, the monk Kuzen (Nakahara Takeo), who can be considered Kyoshiro’s foster father, is killed with a sword. Kyoshiro comes back to Edo after a long time and is welcomed by Mojiwaka (Natori Yuko), Kinpachi (Yashima Norito) and Matsudaira Mondonosho (Tsugawa Masahiko) whom he has close relations with. Saddened beyond words by the death of Kuzen who loved him deeply and brought him up from a very young age, Kyoshiro recalls his childhood.

 Meanwhile, when Kyoshiro is relaxing in the home of the meddlesome Mojiwaka, Kinpachi who knows the gossip about town, noisily rushes in with a dark expression. He says a young lady has called at the house and wants to meet Kyoshiro. Misao (Yoshioka Riho) appears and suddenly calls Kyoshiro “father”. Kyoshiro is lost for words but does not distance himself. Then he learns about the existence of Kagami Yozo (Shiina Kippei) who uses mysterious black magic as well as the same Engetsu (full moon) killing technique as him, and has to confront his own past.

Hayako-sensei, Kekkon Surutte Hontou Desu ka? *Nao Matsushita

34-year-old Hayako Tatsuki/Nao Matsushita is single and a teacher in charge of a first grade class at Heiwa-cho Elementary School on the outskirts of Tokyo. She lives with her parents Tatsushi/Isao Bito and Naoko/Keiko Matsuzaka who run a tofu shop. Hayako has a fulfilling life as a teacher. She is adored by her students and has also established good relationships with fellow teachers Mika Kugayama, Umeko Narimasu and Rentaro Sendagi. Mika, Umeko and Rentaro are all single. Among them, Mika has a strong desire to get married and seems to take an active part in searching for a marriage partner, but she has never asked herself why she wants to marry so badly. That said, Hayako herself unexpectedly feels loneliness in the course of her daily life without any particular reason. She is not concerned about marriage even though she wants to marry the person she loves some day. That is until her father collapses and is hospitalised one day. His life is not in danger, Hayako suggests that her parents close their tofu shop. But the next morning, she sees her mother fumbling with the preparation of the tofu alone in the shop. Seeing the commitment and strong bonds of her parents, who have been together for a long time, through her own eyes, Hayako finally starts to consider marriage seriously. She forms a “matchmaking alliance” with Mika, Umeko and Rentaro. Although they cannot get accustomed to things such as matchmaking parties, premonition of romance with someone younger, they take the first step towards marriage.
