I placed a special order to Japan for this "SPECIAL" DVD. "Gegege No Kitaro" is a BOOM all over the world. Just a few months ago NGN (Nippon Golden Network/Fuji Television in Japan) broadcasted "Gegege No Nyobo". The story was about the real life story of Mizuki's wife.

This DVD is not "manga" it's the real deal, with "Real" people. The story is written by Shigeru Mizuki (original manga story).

Konaka Dai (Abe Sadao) is a former model photographer, he doesn't do more than taking pictures of cats and old people for a living (funeral photos). He is married to the beautiful Ichinose Naoko/former fashion model (Sato Eriko) for eight years. Naoko suddenly discovers Dai's one-time infidelity with a model he once photographed and quickly decides for a divorce and leaves for her parents' home. However, since that house is already too crowded, she decides to move back to live in the same house with Dai. The drama depicts the awkward relationship between the couple, who is divorced but still living together, meanwhile Dai tries to put the marriage back up because Naoko become so stunning after divorcing him.

This is a very funny, comical, cynical Japanese drama about marriage and divorce that I feel you'll really enjoy!

The original story is based on Kokko Kashiwa (柏屋コッコ/Mangakka) a manga writer.

I watch this drama from time to time, and feels this drama is one of Takuya Kimura's BEST!

The story beings with the deaths of ruling party's Fukuoka prefecture member of parliament and his eldest son, his heir apparent, in an plane accident. a by-election had to be held right away and, Kanbayashi Masaichi, the House secretary of the ruling party, conceived the idea of fielding the second son, Asakura Keita (Takuya Kimura), and sent his secretary Miyama Rika (Eri Fukatsu) to complete the task.

Keita (Takuya Kimura) was an elementary school teacher in Nagano prefecture and his hobby was star gazing. He had no interest in politics. At Rika's (Eri Fukatsu) persuasion and the pressure of his family, he reluctantly agreed to run for office but with no intention of winning. However, with the help of Nirasawa Katsutoshi (Hiroshi Abe), an election strategist, he went on to win by a narrow margin of just 164 votes.

When the Prime Minister was forced to resign over allegation of sexual harrassment, Kanbayashi concocted the idea of nominating the inept Keita to run for the party's leadership and thereby becoming the next Prime Minister as he thought it would be easy to manipulate him and work the situation to his own advantage so he would become the next PM when Keita failed. However, the sincerity and hard work of Keita soon won over every sceptic and as Kanbayashi found out, he was not a puppet on his strings. Kanbayashi had to come up with another scheme to destroy Keita.

Zero Woman is a long-running series of Japanese action movies featuring a recurring character that has been played by a multitude of actresses over the years. You could think of Zero Woman as a collision of La Femme Nikita and Emmanuelle. I don't know for certain if this is an official entry in the series—at the time of writing this review, the title isn't listed on IMDb—but if naked women and bloody violence are the standards for the franchise, Zero Woman R should appeal to the established fan base.

Recruited as an orphan and trained as an assassin, Rei (Atsuko Miura) works for a secret branch of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police called Zero Section. The branch handles cases that can't be handled by conventional policing methods. For example, this is how they bust a gang: Rei goes undercover as an inmate in a women's jail, forms a lesbian relationship with the gang's leader, kills a guard to make their escape, then shoots dead the leader and her underlings. Perhaps not the most efficient way to uphold the law but results are still results.

Demoted police detective Hayami (Masaki Miura) meets Rei in the aftermath of a shooting. Though he's never heard of Zero Section, he takes her word for it when she explains why she's just killed a bunch of people. Hayami, the son of a cop, is a pacifist. "You are not familiar with shooting people with your hands," Rei knowingly tells him. The script would suggest that these two are drawn to each other despite their very different approaches to police work. Rei expresses her conflicted emotions for Hayami in tortured dialogue: "Do you enjoy disturbing me? You didn't disturb me. Don't disturb me right now." It's a complicated relationship that can accurately be described as two actors in a scene at the same time.

The case that has Hayami and Rei crossing paths involves assassinated Japanese industrialists, American army architecture, extreme nationalists and a priest. Throw in a couple of meddling government bureaucrats for good measure. Go ahead, string those elements together for a plot. Whatever you can think of will make more sense than what you're going to see on screen.

Another key character is a woman named Yuki (Sasa Hanada) who is on a killing spree. She may be working for someone or she may be on a personal mission. There's an expectation that she is on course for a showdown with Rei but their storylines don't easily connect.

The drama is about Tax evasion, and how the characters try to cheat the system. National tax investigator Matsuko Matsudaira (Ryoko Yonekura) of Nishiizu is well known for her excellant investigative skills and cunningness to get close to the people being investigated.

Matsuko goes undercover and disguises herself as a hostess, diver, and a golf caddy. These kinds of unusual investigative techniques raises the eyebrows of her colleagues and boss, with some agreeing and some not. Mama (Tetsuyu Takeda) is a "OKAMA" bar owner where Matsuko frenquents to unwind from her days work. Mama will make you laugh!
