Kusakari Hotaru (Nanao) is married to Kusakari Goro (Suzuki Nobuyuki) and she works as a pharmacist. She holds a secret that she is really a ninja and part of Koga Ninja’s family. Her husband holds a routine job as a postal delivery carrier, but he has a secret as well. He is also a ninja and part of wellknown Iga Ninja’s family. Even though Kusakari Hotaru and Kusakari Goro are a married couple, they are unaware their partner is a ninja. For generations, the Koga Ninja and Iga Ninja families have been rivals and quite hostile to each other. While Kusakari Hotaru and Kusakari Goro married because of love and their marriage life started off well, their relationship has deteriorated over things like home chores and not following proper bathroom etiquettes (leaving up the toilet seat). An assassination takes place on the first episode. Will Kusakari Hotaru and Kusakari Goro choose their marriage or their family affiliation? This drama is NOT the typical Ninja stereotype you all know; see it and you'll enjoy the modern Ninja warfare.

Ninja War of Torakage *Takumi Saito & Eihi Shiina

Retired from ninja duty, Torakage lives a peaceful life in a small village with his wife and son. One day, Torakage’s son is kidnapped by his former master in an attempt to force him to break into a nearby castle and steal the Gold Scroll, the counterpart to her Silver Scroll, the two of which when brought together point the way to a vast treasure. Having no choice, Torakage and his wife sneak into the castle. However, their plan goes awry and the two are caught and turned over to the evil lord. Now, with his wife a hostage of the lord, Torakage must bring him the Silver Scroll held by his former master or forfeit her life! Utilizing weaponry crafted by an eccentric inventor, Torakage takes on both sides and plays them and their ninja armies off each other in the hope of saving his family.

Nearly two decades Yoshihiro Nishimura has been on the forefront of Japanese “extreme cinema” both as a director and as a special makeup artist. His directorial work includes such films as the groundbreaking Tokyo Gore Police and the zombie epic Helldriver. The Ninja War of Torakage marks a new path for Nishimura, as he blends the popular Japanese ninja genre with his kinetic, visually driven style of filmmaking. The movie stars Takashi Miike regular Takumi Saito (13 Assassins, Ace Attorney) as Torakage, with cult-actress Eihi Shiina (The Audition, Tokyo Gore Police) as Torakage’s evil master.

Nagaremono Orin *Noriko Aoyama EN Subtitled

Edo period during the ninth Shogun Ieshige's reign. Orin's father was falsely accused of attempting to assassinate the former Shogun Yoshimune and in accordance with her father's wishes, Orin/Noriko Aoyama joins the secret assassination group Tegusari-nin, headed by Uemura Doestsu/Takaaki Enoki. In the organization, Orin fights through many dangers. But one day, she realizes she is being used by Doetsu in order to advance his ambition. This is the first season of Nogaremono Orin, the female Lone Wolf (without the cub). An excellent series following the exploits of Kunoichi (female ninja) Orin. There are also close comparisons with the Lone Wolf and Cub story. The series is tense and violent throughout and well worth a watch, like Lone Wolf, the odds are often stacked well against Orin.
