Asami gives the performance she was born to make (her action chops have improved immensely and her fearlessness is a sight to behold). The film's straightforward approach to its ridiculously sublime story helps wonders with audience immersion (no winks, nods or tongue-in-cheek elements of any kind). The action scenes are incredibly thrilling, and in the case of the climax, it is incredibly cathartic that you'll be cheering for Gun Woman. The music is so nostalgically 80's, complete with synthesizer (heck, the guitar cover of "Air on the G String", originally from Bach, was awesome)
Special mention should go to Noriaki Kamata, who plays the villain (for the benefit of the film, he will definitely rub you the wrong way).
