Introduction:

On a dark rainy night, a mysterious killer claims another victim. On her hand, he carves the number 38. More murders follow with the same calling. During this time, a blind woman named Adachi Akiko visits a friend of her father's who runs a quaint used bookstore called Tanabe Books with his grandson Minoru in downtown Tokyo. It appears the unfinished book that her father had written; entitled "Sabishii Karyudo" closely resembles the exact events happening in real life by the killer. With nowhere else to turn, it's up to Iwa-san and Minoru to unravel the case.
